INFiLED Powers FINAS Malaysia’s ICVFX Virtual Production Studio

Overview

In collaboration with Cedar Broadcast & Communications, a system design and component integration company, and Integrasi Naluri Sdn Bhd, a leading innovative audio-video systems integrator and conferencing solution provider, INFiLED delivered a cutting-edge LED display solution for the FINAS ICVFX Virtual Production Studio in Ampang Jaya, Malaysia.

In this project, together with our long-standing partners Brompton Technology and Disguise, we delivered a holistic LED display system for the studio, featuring LED panels from INFiLED’s GX Series.

FINAS and Why ICVFX Virtual Production Studio

FINAS (National Film Development Corporation Malaysia) is the governing body of the Malaysian film industry, committed to advancing film production and technology. To promote filmmaking in Malaysia, FINAS provides support by acquiring filming equipment and establishing production facilities and studios while promoting the Malaysian film sector.

ICVFX represents a fundamental component of virtual production, enabling visual effects to be integrated during filming rather than relying solely on post-production. To facilitate the filming workflow for local content creators, FINAS decided to invest in LED volume in their ICVFX virtual production studio.

The Brief: Setting the Stage for Immersive Virtual Production

FINAS sought a solution that would:

• Enhance immersive visual storytelling through a combination of ceiling-mounted, curved background, and lateral LED screens spanning 147.5 square meters.
• Deliver vibrant, lifelike visuals with seamless playback and consistent color tones to create an engaging production environment.

INFiLED Solution: GX Series LED Video Wall

The INFiLED GX Series was selected for its ability to meet the stringent demands of high-quality ICVFX virtual production. Key features include:

• Lightweight, durable design: Die-cast magnesium-aluminum alloy frames ensure quick assembly and effortless setup, with flexible curve adjustments for customized installations.
• Visual excellence: 1000-nit brightness, a 160° wide viewing angle, anti-glare technology, and a high refresh rate (3840Hz) ensure consistent, dynamic visuals optimized for filming.
• Versatility: Adaptable cabinet sizes (500x500mm and 500x1000mm) with curve adjustments of ±10°, ideal for creating immersive curved backgrounds.
