INFiLED Powers Up the UAE’s State-of-The-Art Production Studio

Overview

When the clever people at Web3 Productions set out to create the UAE’s largest XR/VP studio, they needed LED volumes that would reliably adapt to the diverse needs of their film, broadcast and commercial clients. INFiLED was excited to help bring their vision to life.

Together, we designed and built a reliable and technically excellent XR/VP studio using LED panels from our STUDIO Series. These now form the core of the studio, powering immersive sets and giving their clients the flexibility to tell their stories beautifully.

 About INFiLED STUDIO Series

The INFiLED STUDIO Series is our flagship modular LED kit that’s designed especially for XR/VP studios, although many of our clients use it for other applications. The complete kit is a mix-and-match studio-to-go, that comes with a ceiling, backdrop and floor in one flexible system.

Each of the STUDIO Series components is drawn from our different INFiLED product lines and are tailored to custom layouts and requirements such as format, size, and technical spec.

The Vision: UAE’s Largest XR/VP Studio

In terms of ambition, Web3 Productions doesn’t hang around. The team’s vision was to build and manage the UAE’s largest virtual production studio. They conceived a space that could handle everything –  from traditional filmmaking, to immersive augmented reality productions, to live broadcasts, and for any type of client. And this studio facility should be flexible, reliable, and technically flawless.

The new studio would be set in the heart of Web3TV, a comprehensive creative ecosystem based in Dubai Production City (DPC), complemented by multiple soundproof podcast rooms, editing suites and recording booths.

The Challenge: High Performance Under High Pressure 

If running a high-end VP/XR production studio isn’t in your CV (yet), imagine trying to keep LED floors, ceilings, and backdrops functioning perfectly while juggling clients’ endless creative demands. The project had to address:

• Technical versatility: In virtual production, no two clients are alike. One director might need a sweeping 360° LED volume, while another might need a low-floor immersive environment with multiple camera angles and dynamic backgrounds. The studio had to serve the lot.
• Technical performance:  Every LED panel in the setup had to deliver consistent quality in terms of color, sharpness, brightness, and motion fidelity. But it wasn’t just about high production values. It was about maintaining Web3TV’s integrity and reputation.
• Adaptability and resilience: The LED screens had to be lightweight and easy to set up, while at the same time robust enough to withstand continual handling and heavy use.
• Downtime (preferably none): A fully-booked studio means more revenue and happy accountants. Downtime means lost bookings, higher maintenance costs, and a team you’re paying that can’t work. The LED system needed to be reliably operational 24/7, with minimal downtime.

The Solution: A Fully Immersive LED Floor-to-Ceiling Studio

Although we’ve built a reputation for technical excellence and reliability for projects across the UAE, we always get a thrill when we’re selected to partner in a new project.  The team at Web3 Productions selected modules from INFiLED’s STUDIO Series for its proven flexibility, durability, and resilience in high-pressure production environments, and here’s why:

• • Super-flexibility: We’re not saying it’s as fun as LEGO® (although our engineers would disagree), but you can really get creative with the STUDIO Series. Its modular build meant that Web3TV users could create the environment that directly facilitated their creative vision – small and intimate, large and cinematic, flat or curved backdrop, and all with the new LED Virtual Background to shorten post-production time.
  • Multi staging options: The LED panels could be hung from a truss bar, floor mounted or stacked.

• LED technical performance: The panels were engineered with advanced CBSF technology, combined with high refresh rates, a 1/8 scan rate for bright, flicker-free visuals, and 6-bit high grayscale precision for stable, shift-free colour. ColdLED tech kept everything cool.

In particular:

• The lightweight ARmk2 Series ceiling LED panels included truss brackets and pedestals for dynamic AV setups.
• The DBmk2 Series were built for cinematic-quality backdrops.
• The anti-slip, anti-reflective DFmk2 panels for the floor were designed with retractable bumpers, reinforced cabinet surfaces and ArmorLED tech, making them robust enough to handle dynamic set movements and high traffic. With LEDs that stick ten times better than standard ones, it’s safe to say that nothing’s dropping off mid-shoot.

The Result:

The UAE’s largest VP studio stands five metres high, with floor-to-ceiling INFiLED LED panels – a fully immersive environment. Paired with Brompton processors for flawless colour rendering, and Disguise workflows, it’s a complete studio setup ready for five-camera shoots and seamless live production. And it’s already started turning heads, drawing in high-end brands such as Rolls Royce for their Spectre commercial.
