A Living Structure of Light: The AMF 2025 Stage

Overview
At this year’s Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), the Johan Cruijff ArenA hosted one of the event’s most ambitious LED builds, drawing around 40,000 fans for a single night of music and energy.
Nearly 2,000 m² of INFiLED LED displays were installed and commissioned in under 24 working hours, marking a key achievement for PIXELSCREEN.eu‘s team and highlighting the precision required for the project.
This rapid large-scale build formed the foundation of a stage design that combined transparent and solid LED elements, delivering AMF’s signature visual identity across the stadium.
About AMF: Europe’s Dance Landmark
AMF stands at the heart of Amsterdam Dance Event, known for its scale, precision and production quality. Its visual identity has always revolved around the letter “X”, which the AMF describes as “inspired by the city of Amsterdam, a festival symbol from the very first day.”
To bring that emblem to life in 2025, Insomniac once again partnered with PIXELSCREEN.eu, a trusted collaborator for large-scale builds on tight deadlines. For this edition, PIXELSCREEN.eu worked with INFiLED, whose LED systems offered the lightness, strength and reliability required for the design.
Behind the scenes, lighting, video and content teams pre-visualized every cue to keep timing and motion perfectly aligned once the show began.
The Challenge – Turning a Stadium into a Stage
The 2025 AMF stage had to look monumental yet remain open for beams, lasers and pyrotechnics to pass through. It needed to express the festival’s iconic “X” shape, integrate with lighting grids and stay stable through rehearsals and performance.
With only one day to complete installation, PIXELSCREEN.eu handled rigging cabling and calibration simultaneously.
Every module had to lock precisely and sync the moment power came on. Achieving that precision at this scale demanded exact planning and teamwork. PIXELSCREEN.eu CEO – Frank noted that completing the build in under 24 hours shows what’s possible when cutting-edge technology meets a dedicated, experienced team.

The Solution – Transparency and Solidity in Motion
PIXELSCREEN.eu realized the design through two INFiLED LED series, each taking a distinct role in the stage composition.
Transparent LED panels: AM Series (now upgraded to AMmk2)
Solid panels: AR Series (now upgraded to ARmk2 Series)
- Structural foundation: Positioned behind the AM layers to define the stage’s shape and deliver high-impact content.
- Rigidity and precision: Magnesium-alloy frames, magnet-assisted alignment, and fast locks ensured stable, repeatable setup.
- Safe rigging design: The stacking system supports up to 20 cabinets; with a safety factor of 10, single-row hoisting can reach the same height.

Outcome – Precision and Partnership on Display
When the lights dimmed, the structure came alive. Transparent layers rippled with color, while the solid surfaces delivered sharp, high-impact visuals that defined each musical transition. From the upper tiers, the stage looked almost weightless; from the floor, it projected clarity and power.
Throughout the night, the system ran flawlessly – no sync delays, no color drift – proving the reliability of both equipment and execution. The project also reflected a growing trend in live entertainment: modular LED platforms that shorten build times while expanding creative possibilities.
For PIXELSCREEN.eu and INFiLED, AMF 2025 was not just a fast build, and it was a collaboration that turned speed, precision and design into one seamless visual experience. In a single day, an empty stadium became a living structure of light and rhythm.
